Our history

You may already know Elevate Great by our previous name, Cattanach. We adopted a new name and direction in 2025 to reflect a more ambitious vision and approach.

Cattanach and Elevate Great’s roots date back to 1991, when Phyliss Cattanach wanted to use her inherited family wealth for the benefit of society, and set up a trust with wide scope for charitable giving. The trustees decided on an early childhood theme.

At Elevate Great, we still believe in the importance of early childhood, building on what Cattanach achieved to create an equitable society.

Governance and accounts

Elevate Great (registered as Cattanach SCIO) is a Scottish Incorporated Charitable Organisation, Scottish Charity Number SC049833.
